Indie Beauty Brand Reaffirms Sustainability and Green Business Practices
New York, New York (July 31, 2009)

Sustainability and earth consciousness is not a new concept for Indie Beauty Co. Indigofera. Since their start in 2000, Indigofera has supported local suppliers, used recyclable packaging and introduced non-toxic skin, body and hair care without petrochemicals, detergents or artificial dyes.

In the spring of 2009, the company known for plant based beauty favorites like Organic Hair SoufflĂ© ™ and a multi-sensory beauty philosophy reaffirmed its commitment to green business practices. The re launch was the perfect time to make changes that would be apart of the lasting culture.

“Respecting the earth’s gifts has always been a central part of Indigofera values. As an independent company it feels great to do our part in the green movement.” Chanelle Washington, Indigofera Founder

Indigofera Commitment to Green Business Practices
· Responsible use of energy for administration and manufacturing
· Green friendly products for office cleaning
· Investing in bio-degradable packing fill for shipping orders
· Recycled paper use for required printing
· Support of telecommuting to minimize gas consumption and energy use
· New product formulas with more Certified Organic Ingredients

No one was left out of the improvement process. Charisse Tucker a loyal client of Indigofera made the suggestion to use the bio-degradable packing fill and inform new clients of the eco-friendly materials used in their beauty box orders. So now, when opening an Indigofera package, you can smile at the “no worries, all packaging is eco-friendly message,” along with a friendly recycling reminder.

Green Business practices are just one aspect of Indigofera’s social responsibility. The company was founded by an R.N., as an entrepreneur she remains passionate about health prevention and wellness. Indigofera clients are encouraged to join the Better U program a heart disease awareness effort sponsored by the American Heart Association Go Red for Women Campaign.
