Natural Hair Styling Tutorial - Loose Natural Hair

Hello Radiant Ones!

 I get several emails every week asking about how to care for coily, kinky, thick, natural hair, tips on how to prevent dryness, and minimize breakage when transitioning. I created a video tutorial that demonstrates how I used the Indigofera hair care ritual on my client Mali. Her loose natural hair is colored, thick with a coily to kinky curl pattern.

 I started by shampooing and deep conditioning her hair with Indigofera Aromatic Hair Cleanser and Botanical Conditioning Crème.  Next, I nourished her hair with Organic Hair Souffle. To maintain a healthy scalp I generously apply Indigofera Botanical Hairdress.  Hydrating Hair Mist was used to keep her tresses damp as I finished the style.

You will see me style her hair in two strand twist which I set on rods with a setting foam and then dried. Nourishing Hair Serum was applied lightly as a finishing oil. How to Get the Most of Your Organic Hair Souffle

I wanted to stop by and give you all an afternoon tip:

We just recently had the Organic Hair Souffle Event, which was awesome and exciting! So, now that you have your product, I want to be sure you are getting the best possible results.

One of the best things about the Organic Hair Souffle is that a little goes a long way. Though, you may be inclined to use a hefty amount, fight the urge.

I suggest:

1. Misting the hair with a light herbal mist such as the Indigofera Hydrating Mist. 
2. Section the hair into manageable sections. Mist again if needed.
3. Take a quarter-sized amount, less depending on the size of the section. Rub it in the palms, began applying to hair from root to ends. Ensure total coverage by combing your fingers through the section. Repeat on each section.
4. Follow up with a finishing oil such as the Nourishing Hair Serum to seal in the moisture. 
5. Style as desired.
6. Look Radiant!

Now, my hair type is 4c, thick and coily. I love to do twist-out type styles. It spices up my basic fro every now and then. I twist my hair the night before using Indigofera Organic Hair Souffle. After I'm done, my twists are so pretty, shiny and moisturized. Each time I get really excited as if I hadn't just done these exact steps and gotten the exact great results three days ago. Yet, the issue doesn't come there, instead it's the next morning when it's time to take the twists apart. I always wake up to a dull version of the night before. So of course my first instinct is to rub a drop of oil through my twists and then proceed in taking them apart. It works fairly well, shiny but a little oily.

So, my natural hair care tip is: when doing a twist-out type style, braid-out, two-strand twists etc, when preparing to take the hair apart, first hydrate the hair with Indigofera Hydrating Mist, then take a drop of the Nourishing Hair Serum, rub it in the palm of your hands then throughout the hair. Now you are ready to take the hair apart and showcase your natural beauty!
