Ways to Wear Natural Hair While Experienceing Thinning

One of our Radiant Beauties following our Indigofera Beauty Blog replied to our post on Transitioning from Relaxed to Natural Hair- The Indigofera Way and asked, What are the best styles for rocking natural hair when experiencing thinning?

Great Question!

The Answer is….Curls! Curls! Curls!

Try styles that give your hair the illusion of maximum volume!

Curls can make any Tranisitioning Beauty feel fashionable, fun and free!

Loose Twists, Flat Twists Twist outs, Curl Sets, Curly Afros

Tips for Managing Thinning Hair

Avoid

Tight and pulling styles such as braids sew ins pony tails and buns

Excessive

Brushing and Combing

Stress!

Address Thinning with Plant based beauty rituals!!

Use the Organic Hair Souffle for your lusrious shiny twists and twist outs.

Also For Intensive Scalpcare, use the Botanical Hairdress on temples, edges and other thinning areas.

Noyek's Natural Hair Journey: Reviving Your Hair

Hello Radiant ones!

Noyek Here!

Now, my hair type is 4c, thick and coily. I love to do twist-out type styles. It spices up my basic fro every now and then. I twist my hair the night before using Indigofera Organic Hair Souffle. After I'm done, my twists are so pretty, shiny and moisturized. Each time I get really excited as if I hadn't just done these exact steps and gotten the exact great results three days ago. Yet, the issue doesn't come there, instead it's the next morning when it's time to take the twists apart. I always wake up to a dull version of the night before. So of course my first instinct is to rub a drop of oil through my twists and then proceed in taking them apart. It works fairly well, shiny but a little oily.

So, my natural hair care tip is: when doing a twist-out type style, braid-out, two-strand twists etc, when preparing to take the hair apart, first hydrate the hair with Indigofera Hydrating Mist, then take a drop of the Nourishing Hair Serum, rub it in the palm of your hands then throughout the hair. Now you are ready to take the hair apart and showcase your natural beauty!

Share your pictures of your great hydrated kinks, coils and locs!

Be Radiantly Beautiful,

Noyek

Styling your way through the Transition

It seems since you've decided to transitioned your hair styles have become very basic. You have become restricted to the fro and the twist out, perhaps in different variations. Well, guess what, you can give that kinky hair of yours the same love, possibly MORE, than what you'd show it if it was relaxed. Not for one minute should you feel restricted to the same "boring old style". There's something for everyone! Short, long or in between.

Protective styling is definitely an option and a vital part of caring for your natural hair. It can be done on any length and/or curl pattern that can sustain. The styles are endless and not only limited to box braids. Protective styling should be done on at least six inches of strong, healthy hair.

Short Hair Beauties, those that don't require protective styling just yet, if you did the big chop, you are already a step ahead! One, you did what many wouldn't and two that’s fierce in its on right. Play up the big chop by accessorizing. Visiting a museum or any other artsy, eclectic event? Channel it with blocky jewelry, big bangles, vibrant colors! The big chop can also be approached in a more relaxed and/or elegant manner. If you are a natural beauty that has a knack for makeup, on your way to a more formal event, play your up facial feature’s strong points to accentuate your hair. If you have experienced some growth, try coiled styles, add a flower.

Medium and longer length ladies there’s a little more of an array of  styles, simply because you have length, however, that means that you guys serve as length and style inspirations for those who desire it!

Out on the town with the girls, try a retro pinup, its sure to turn heads!

Enjoying dinner later on in the evening with the a special friend, no fret, steal the night with a stunning pompadour, it’ll definitely do the trick. The Best part, it only takes 4 minutes! Another one that's sure to be a hit, is the pincurls, it gives you that nicely defined curl set without the heat and rods.

This is only a few of the many, many styles out there, their variations and your creativity. Please, share your natural styles with us, we’re always looking for inspiration.

Also, remember ladies, regardless of hair length all natural hair styles look their best and are at their healthiest when the hair is healthy. Natural Hair deserves a healthy pant-based hair ritual to reach its maximum potential. Also, please keep the tresses well moisturized, MEGA MOISTURE=NO BREAKAGE!!!

Noyek's Natural Hair Journey- A radiant road

Hello Radiant Ones!

Noyek here! I wanted to stop in a minute and update you on my hair journey, its going rather pleasant. How about yours? In particular, I must say that the switch to Indigofera's real plant-based hair ritual has been one of the best decisions of my life. Not only for my natural hair, but as well for my overall health. It's helped kicked off a chain of positive, overall (mental, spiritual and physical) events. The body, from the crown of your head to the soles of your feet deserve quality ingredients to produce quality results.

Harsh chemicals, and watered down chemicals for that matter cannot be good in any manner. I've started with my hair care. Trust me, your locs, curls, coils and fros deserves the best that's offered. Better hair care equals better results. I have 4C hair, knotted ends used to wreak havoc on my hair. I've noticed less kinks (the bad kind, tangled ends), more definition in my curl pattern, much softer and manageable hair.

Who would had ever thought? I sure didn't! But the beauty of knowledge is: once you learn better, you do better! Am I right or am I right?

Be Radiantly Beautiful,

Noyek

Noyek's Indigofera Natural Hair Journey ~ Real Results for Coily Kinky Hair

Hello Radiant Ones!

Noyek Here! Its been about 3 weeks now since I've began my Indigofera natural hair care journey! Still, I am just as excited as I was my first use, actually much more. Previously, I didn't really have an established healthy hair routine. To be quite honest, I pamper my hair as much as I should have My natural coily, kinky hair was very dry and craving moisture. It was neglected and it pretty much showed, especially on a bad hair day. A large part was the fact that I had tried so many products with no real success.  Any product junkies out there? lol

With Indigofera Natural Natural Hair Care Products, I noticed results from the first use! My hair was much softer, much shinier and smelled fresh and blissful. The results made me want to commit to my custom Indigofera Hair Care Ritual to retain moisture, keep my hair nourished and growing beautififully! Take a look at the video of my testimonial below.

African American Women Weight Loss and Detox Tips

We all know black is beautiful and that many gorgeous women are curvy and voluptuous. Unfortunately, many beautiful African American women find themselves genetically predisposed to struggling with their weight. While our heritage has given us amazing skin and wonderful hair, it has also given us a genetic tendency towards a slower metabolism and higher insulin resistance, both of which can lead to increased weight gain. If you find yourself struggling with these issues and longing to get back to those beautiful curves, there are options available to you. A detox diet is a great way to clear the body and soul of anything that is holding you back from being the best you that you can be.

A detox diet is a way of changing what you eat so that you are eating foods that are healthy for you both physically and spiritually. Changing your consumption habits allows your body to remove all of the nasty toxins that we often eat without realizing it. While your liver and kidneys work hard to expel these things from your body naturally, consuming high levels of these toxins can render your body unable to process them all. It is much healthier to avoid consuming altogether, if possible.

There are a number of detox diets, but they all have certain tenants in common to ensure that you become your ideal you. Detox diets place a lot of emphasis on eating natural fruits and vegetables, as they are rich in nutrients and generally do not have preservatives and other toxins. It is suggested that these fruits and vegetables be organic if possible. Detox diets also suggest that you avoid processed foods altogether. It is also recommended that you limit your alcohol intake or even stop consuming alcohol all together. While the occasional glass of wine can improve your heart health, generally alcohol just fills your body with carbohydrates and toxins. As with almost any diet, a detox diet will encourage you to drink as much water as possible.

Following the rules of a detox diet will cause you to consume fewer toxins, but it also leads to you making healthier choices in general. African American women who struggle with their weight will find that a detox diet helps them choose foods with both fewer toxins and fewer calories, leading to increased health and a more manageable weight.

However, the benefits of a detox diet extend beyond weight loss. These toxins that build up in your body not only cause you to gain weight, they also cause your body’s natural energy to flow poorly. As your body eliminates the toxins that are holding you back, you will find that you have increased energy and a much more positive mental state. Sometimes, the same things that are causing you to have physical issues can lead to emotional and spiritual issues. Detox diets are a great way for African American women to become who they have always wanted to be, physically, spiritually, and emotionally.

4 Ways to Revive your Soul for Summer

Hello!

You hear a lot of buzz about renewal and change during January. But guess what summer is also a great time to start afresh, be inspired and give your life a mini makeover. If you follow Indigofera you know we love all things inspirational! Life can come at you hard, so I want to share a few ways you can revive your soul for summer.

1. Take inventory
Consider what is really happening in your life. Are you living authenically? Where are you most at peace? Are you honoring your mind, body and soul?

2. Ask the question
What am I willing to try, change or remove in my life to attain wholeness? Be honest with your self. Now may or may not be the time. Just know only YOU can change the course of action in your life.

3. Revisit what make your  feel most alive
Sometimes when can get so caught up in things that leave us empty. Perhaps that thing for you is a person, place, job, habit or belief. Think back to what once made you feel alive. Or pursue new things that bring the spark back in your life. I love to dance. It has been a while since I have gone out and took a swirl in a pair of heels. Don't underestimate how simple things can make a big difference.

4. Take a challenge
Who wouldn't take advice from a sister who calls her blog the Happy Black Woman. I had the pleasure of meeting Rosetta Thurman in D.C. for the Arete Magazine Launch Party. Recently one of her tweets attracted my interest and I took  a closer look at her blog. Ready to Reset your Life in 31 Days check it out.

How are you reviving your soul?
