Chanelle Washington is the visionary and businesswoman behind Indigofera, a beauty wellness and lifestyle company. She is a riveting and passionate speaker whose keen observation, life experience, and professional prowess bring an innovative edge and unmistakable excitement to her oratory style. As a woman who has been intrigued by entrepreneurship and science, as well as nature, aesthetic traditions, culture, she brings a unique perspective, sensibility, and focus to the marketplace. It was out of this unique blend of science, wellness, business, and beauty that she in 2000 founded Indigofera “treasures for body, mind & soul.” In September 2006, she took another leap of faith by introducing the Indigofera Natural Hair & Skin Studio, which developed a strong and loyal following in the Delaware Valley region.
As an entrepreneurial maven and wellness expert, Chanelle Washington’s brand assets have included a natural hair studio offering spa and skin care services, a lifestyle magazine, self-published articles and books on beauty, a weekly national teleconference, a glamorous makeup and eyelash artistry service-line, and a signature plant-based hair and skin care line. Her well developed line of products and services marked by her commitment to wellness and quality service have garnered wide spread support. Her distinguished clientele include individuals from business, professional, and social networking groups whose breadth and depth interest cover a wide spectrum. Recently, she facilitated her own in-demand series of “Optimal Wellness Workshops” and “Entrepreneur Success Series.”
Chanelle Washington is a sought after speaker and conference facilitator. She has been the featured speaker for events sponsored by Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc. (Rho Theta Omega Chapter), The Power Networking™ Conference (sponsored by Frasernet.com), The School District of Philadelphia, and the Mocha Moms (an African American parenting support group).
A Philadelphia native, Chanelle earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing with honors from Temple University in 1998. Committed to continual educational and professional development and growth, she earned a Master of Business Administration in 2009. She hopes to utilize her newly acquired and freshly honed skills to assist aspiring entrepreneurs launch and grow their business with focus on branding, strategic planning and product/service development marked by an overall commitment to excellence.
Chanelle Washington’s reputation for excellence has gained her entrance to and exposure in a myriad of forums and business settings. In 2005 she was chosen from a group of innovative entrepreneurs to represent all of Philadelphia in the “Verizon Realize” Ad Campaign. In 2006 Indigofera and HR Energy co-sponsored “Success Habits” a national empowerment tour with noted speaker and author Wil Cason and in the same year, The Philadelphia Natural Hair Conference at the Philadelphia Convention Center featured Chanelle as a panelist and prominent presenter. She has been a sought after exhibitor and presenter for the Baltimore Natural Hair Care Expo since 2007.
Chanelle is also the author and publisher of the book “Seven Gems for Entrepreneurial Success,” which was published in 2006. She also serves as faculty associate ambassador for the Power Networking Conference and is a proud member of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society for Nurses.
Chanelle avidly believes in keeping community ties and practicing corporate social responsibility. Indigofera is a proud supporter of the Sickle Cell Association of the Delaware Valley. Indigofera has been featured at national trade shows and has won clients throughout the U.S., the Caribbean, and Europe.
